I am a friend of Billy's. I met him through Mary Tabachnick. Mary was my grandmother's best friend when they were growing up in Atlanta and has remained a dear friend of the family. When my husband, Dale, and I lived in NY from 2001-2005 we spent a lot of time with Mary and Billy. Even in their old age, they were such a fun couple.

I just found out about his death and wanted to send my condolences. He was truly a wonderful man. Dale and I adored him. He took such great care of Mary. He was like her guardian angel. He was also very kind to us. I am afraid that chivalry has died with Billy.
I just had to tell somebody how fond we were of him and how much we will miss him. It is rare for a person of his caliber to walk on this earth.
